Flora came to know Jesus as her personal Saviour through a Girls Brigade Camp in Cameron Highlands when she was just 14. Immediately after her encounter with God, she went about building her Christian foundations through correspondence Bible-Study with Emmaus. The studies helped her understand her faith and enabled her to inculcate good spiritual disciplines.
Her Christian life since, has been one of real personal experience of God’s goodness as she holds dearly to her favourite promise in Scripture found in Matthew 6:33, “See first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and ALL these things will be given to you as well” (NLT). There are many personal testimonies of how God came through to meet her needs as she continued to cling on to God and seek His will in her life.
Flora is married to Pastor Stephen Mohan and they recently celebrated their 27th anniversary. They have two children, Joel and Rebekah.
Flora began serving the Lord early in her Christian walk with the Girls Brigade at Malacca Wesley, rising up the ranks to eventually become Captain of the Malacca Girls Brigade. She was involved with Girls Brigade until her marriage, after which she moved to stay in Klang.
Flora is currently the Bethany Council secretary and is also the deacon in charge of “LifeCubz” – the children’s ministry.
One other ministry that Flora is involved in is to minister to young couples via pre-marriage counseling sessions that both she and her husband conduct. As a ministering couple, they are also involved in visitation.
Flora also attended the Haggai National Seminar, a Christian organization that organizes advanced leadership training programmes focused primarily on the Great Commission. As a result of the Hagai Seminar, her passion to share her faith was reignited. It was also at the seminar where she was challenged to chart spiritual goals for her life and she is in pursuit of these goals.
Professionally, Flora is attached to the Ministry of Education as a teacher, something she is passionate about. She teaches Mathematics and Music to Upper Primary pupils. She still keeps in touch with many of her ex-pupils, who have long left the school as she sees her teaching career as a calling by the Lord.
As her hobbies, Flora enjoys cooking (much to her husband’s delight!) and gardening
